Before you know it, your big day will be here.
Dr Bev and her team have helped hundreds of women look their best for their big day. After all, you will be the center of attention and you will want to leave nothing to chance.
Are you unhappy with your shape?
Is it hard to find a dress that you love? Have you wanted a Breast Augmentation or Liposuction for a long time? This may be the time to consider plastic surgery.
The decision to pursue surgery should be made no later than 6 months prior to you wedding. Keeping in mind that it may take 2 or 3 months to actually book your surgery, this will provide adequate time for all areas to heal and for your dress to be altered before your big day.
If curves are what you are seeking or seeking to improve, then body contouring surgeries such as breast augmentation/lift, liposuction and Brazilian Butt Lifts may be right for you. Liposuction can help to achieve a more toned appearance by sculpting stubborn areas resistant to diet and exercise.
Cosmetic facial surgery can bring out your natural beauty and address multiple concerns. For our older brides, and mothers of the bride (or groom) who want to look their best, facial enhancements or eyelid surgery may be helpful.
This is where most brides start to think about what they will look like.
While it is still possible to have surgery and fully heal, surgery within 6 months of your wedding can be a little close for comfort. An alternative to surgery is Coolsculpting which uses precisely controlled cooling to reduce fat in those trouble spots.
Keep in mind that more than one treatment may be needed. Since treatments are spaced 1-2 months apart, you will want enough time to see results prior to your big day. Ultherapy uses ultrasound to stimulate new collagen production, resulting in subtle lifting and tightening of the jaw line and cheeks after a few months. This is also the best time to address skin concerns such as breakouts or sun damage.
You should start on a skin care regimen including topicals such as retinoids to control breakouts if acne is a problem, and use lots of sun screens to prevent additional damage. A spray tan before the wedding will give you the color you want without risking sun damage. Clinical facials may be beneficial as well. Large pores, dark spots, fine lines and uneven texture can be treated with in office peels and microneedling often performed by our master aestheticians.
If your skin care program includes lasers or peels, this is a perfect time to start since a series of peels or treatments spaced a few weeks apart are needed for the best results. If you are simply looking to brighten your skin, then a hydrafacial or light peel may be all that are needed. Don’t forget to inquire about the décolleté, or shoulders if they are exposed in your dress.
This is a good time to start thinking about fillers and neurotoxins, particularly if you have never used them before. Many brides do a dry run with wrinkle relaxers for the “elevens” such as Botox or wrinkle fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm for the smile lines or a plumper pout several months before the event.
Since lip plumpers last a couple of months and botox lasts 3-4 months, they will need to be repeated before your big day. Consider 1 month out as a final opportunity. Keep in mind that you may have swelling or bruising, so you will want that to completely die down before your wedding. An alternative to lash extensions is Latisse. Latisse is a topical product that stimulates lash growth and gives the appearance of darker thicker lashes. It may be more reasonable in price than extensions, but it takes up to 90 days to see maximal improvement.
