Mini Tummy Tuck

A mini-abdominoplasty tightens lax skin on the lower abdomen only. The resulting scar is shorter and more discreet than a full tummy tuck. However, it does not include abdominal muscle repair. Liposuction may accompany the procedure to define the abdominal contours further, highlight the muscles, and reduce fat.

Full Tummy Tuck

Most patients require a full abdominoplasty to see the best results. Because abdominal muscle separation occurs in up to 60% of pregnancies, Dr. Friedlander performs muscle plication to suture the ab(rectus) muscle together at the midline, thereby eliminating the dreaded mommy pooch that leaves some women looking pregnant long after childbirth. With a scar that extends from hip to hip, she removes and tightens lax skin on the upper and lower abdomen. It can also correct a frowny belly button and may reduce some stretch marks on the lower tummy. Dr. Friedlander may also perform liposuction with the tummy tuck for surgical fat reduction.

Extended Tummy Tuck

After multiple pregnancies, some patients have excess skin on the frontal abdomen and sides. As a result, the extended tummy tuck has a longer incision that extends across the lower abdomen and above the hips.
