Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that safely scrapes off the top layer of skin. It is well suited  as an adjunct to all facials, including hydrafacials as it permits improved penetration of anti aging and anti oxidant topicals  by removing the dead dry epitheium that builds up on the skin surface.

Have a Question

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a safe method of removing dead, dry skin called epithelium that tends to build up as we get older. This dead dry skin is often the cause of dull uneven complexions. The procedure is performed by a licensed aesthetician  and uses a sterile blade to gently scrape off the top layer of skin cells including the baby fine hairs or peach fuzz. The result is skin that is as soft and as smooth as a baby’s bottom.

What are the side effects of Dermaplaning?

There are no side effects of Dermaplaning.  Your skin may be more sensitive to sun exposure afterwards, so it is important to apply SPF of 30 or higher.  This should be done on a daily basis regardless of having a Dermaplaning.

Is Dermaplaning for everyone?

Dermaplaning  is recommended for all skin types but it should not be used in individuals with active acne. It is a great procedure for pregnant  or nursing women since it provides a thorough exfoliation without the use of any harsh chemicals.
