Have a QuestionWhat can Chemical Peels do?
Peels improve the skin by removing the damaged outer layers improving the skin’s texture, firmness and tone with visible results after only one treatment. Each contains a synergistic combination of different acids and exfoliating agents in concentrations that are safe for all skin types. They are designed to treat a variety of conditions including photo damage, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scarring and acne. They are non-invasive, penetrating the outer skin layers only, resulting in smoother, tighter looking skin without surgery or down time.
Which Chemical Peels are performed at True Beauty Med Spa?
ZO-Stimulator Peel
TRU-PEEL Light
TRU-PEEL Medium
This is a powerful yet non-damaging peel that can take years off of aging skin. It helps fight the effects of time, sun damage, and environmental assaults. It addresses various skin conditions, such as hyperpigmentation, and moderate photo damage while also smoothing fine lines, wrinkles and roughness. It can achieve visible improvement after one treatment and significant results after a series of treatments. It can be customized for the treatment of each specific condition, using retinoic acid and phenol in combination with other mid strength acids to create more exfoliation than other chemical peels of the same depth resulting in more noticeable outcomes. These peels are well tolerated and have little down time. They result in peeling lasting about 2-3 days, beginning a few days after the peel solution has been applied, requiring about 5-7 days for complete healing. The best results are achieved with a series of 3-4 peels, and it is useful on all skin types.
TRU-PEEL Forte
What will my skin feel like after a Chemical Peel?
The ZO Stimulator peel and the TRU Peel Light have little to no downtime. Your skin will feel refreshed and tingly. Just Apply makeup and have fun. The deeper Medium and Forte peels, are associated with some tightness, tingling and or itching after the procedure. There may also be a light discoloration or redness similar to sun burn. Highly emollient creams and ointments are recommended beginning the day after the procedure. Cold compresses may be used for comfort as well. These creams are applied every 3-4 hours as needed for dryness and itching.
How long does it take to heal from a Chemical Peel?
There are different levels of peels. The ZO stimulator peel has no downtime or peeling. Deeper peels stimulate cellular turnover resulting in peeling that begins 3 or 4 days after the procedure and lasts about 2 days. Light peeling may continue for another day or two. Healing depends on your skin type and the type of peel used.

When can I apply makeup after a Chemical Peel?
Red Carpet peels allow application of makeup immediately afterwards. With other peels, routine skin care products and makeup can be applied the day after the peel. Sunscreens SPF 30 or higher are essential afterwards. Retin A and exfoliating agents should not be used until you are completely healed.
How many Chemical Peels are needed?
The best results are achieved with a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart.
Where can Chemical Peels be used?
Peels are intended to provide a deeper exfoliation of the skin to remove damaged cells and create a more youthful appearance. Lighter peels can be performed in other areas such as the neck, décolletage, chest, hands and arms. Deeper peels can safely be performed on the face.
