Your skin’s ability to heal and renew naturally slows with age, which is why we eventually start to notice texture changes, dullness, and early fine lines. Our medical aesthetician, Alyssa, uses PRP skin rejuvenation to support healthier, stronger skin from within at our medspa in Short Hills, New Jersey. This treatment works by using your own platelet-rich plasma to encourage natural repair and brighter tone.
PRP is typically combined with microneedling or used for hair restoration.

What PRP Can Improve
PRP may help refine:
- Uneven or dull tone
- Early fine lines
- Mild skin laxity
- Rough or uneven texture
- Acne scarring or discoloration
- Skin that appears tired or dehydrated
Because the treatment relies on your own growth factors, the results develop gradually and look like a refreshed version of your natural skin.
How PRP Works
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is derived from a small sample of your blood. After spinning the sample in a centrifuge, Alyssa isolates the portion rich in growth factors — the part responsible for stimulating repair. The plasma can then either be:
- Applied topically after microneedling to penetrate through microchannels and enhance collagen stimulation
- Injected into the scalp to support hair restoration by helping awaken dormant follicles
In either case, the goal is to encourage new collagen and support cell turnover.
Treatment Experience
Your visit begins with an assessment of your skin and a review of your concerns and goals. After your blood sample is drawn and prepared, Alyssa will guide you through the treatment. You will receive numbing to make your experience more comfortable.
Mild pinkness may appear immediately after treatment and typically settles quickly. Most clients return to normal activities the same day or the next day, depending on which technique was used.
How Long Results Last
Many clients see improvement in tone and radiance within several weeks, with continued changes as collagen develops. A series of treatments spaced a few weeks apart often delivers the best results, followed by maintenance sessions based on your skin’s needs and how it responds.
Why Choose Beverly Friedlander MD?
PRP is most effective when paired with expert evaluation and careful preparation. Dr. Bev, a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 25 years of experience in aesthetics, oversees the protocols used at our medspa. Her background in facial anatomy and skin health guides the treatment plans offered within the practice, ensuring they align with long-term results rather than quick, temporary fixes.
Alyssa, our medical aesthetician, performs the treatments with Dr. Bev’s supervision and uses her extensive experience with advanced skin techniques to help clients achieve clearer, smoother, more radiant skin.
