Breast Augmentation with Fat New Jersey

Breast enhancement using fat is a safe effective alternative to breast implants. Pioneered by Dr. Coleman 20 years ago, it is gradually in gaining popularity. Breast enhancement using fat offers a modest enhancement of cup size in select individuals.

What is Breast Augmentation with Fat?

Breast augmentation with fat grafts offers a completely natural alternative to breast implants. Also known as autologous fat transfer, this procedure that can achieve modest increases in breast size. The fat is harvested fat from other areas of the body using liposuction cannulas. It is processed for reintroduction into the breast and then injected. This scarless breast procedure introduces one’s own fat which will become incorporated into the breast as it develops a new source of nourishment or blood supply which occurs over a period of several days.

Breast Augmentation with Fat TransferWhat is involved?

Please advise Dr. Friedlander that you are interested in discussing this option. Since this procedure incorporates two procedures performed simultaneously, Dr. Friedlander will need to assess your breasts and your areas of fat excess. Even thin patients may have extra fat available for transfer in the abdomen, flank and inner and outer thigh areas.

During the procedure fat is removed with gentle liposuction, resulting in not only harvest of fat, but in improvement in contour of that area. After the fat has been processed, it is methodically and meticulously injected into the breast at multiple levels to promote the best results. Using your own fat allows you to achieve a modest ½- 1 cup size increase without an implant while removing stubborn areas of fat, thus improving your overall contour and your self-esteem.

Are there other uses for fat in the breast?

Fat has become a useful adjunct in many cosmetic and reconstructive breast procedures. If there is thin tissue or implant visibility and rippling, fat grafting may help to camouflage the implant. It can add bulk to the skin providing natural cover. As lifestyles change, some women are opting to downsize or remove the implants altogether. Changes in the breasts may have occurred over time leading to loss of fullness and drooping. A mastopexy will restore some of the fullness at the time of surgery but fat transfers can be performed to add further refinement to the breast volume and shape, perhaps leading to a perkier appearance.

What are the advantages of breast augmentation with fat transfer?

  • The procedure is essentially scarless since the fat is transferred by injection
  • There is no implant to worry about
  • Added benefit of liposuction and improved contours elsewhere

Are there any disadvantages to breast augmentation with fat transfer?

  • Modest ½ -1 cup size enhancement.
  • Cysts have been reported after the procedure
  • Fat grafting may impact routine mammographic surveillance
